YouTube brings new feature to help parents ‘supervise’ what their kids watch

YouTube is making it easier for parents to keep tabs on their children’s viewing habits. The new feature will be introduced in time but YouTube Kids app has been phased out already, so you’ll have access only through your regular browser or mobile device instead of downloading an app onto your phone which can often get cluttered with ads and other distractions alike!

 

YouTube has a minimum age of 13 for anyone to use it, and the company recommends that kids under this age also use YouTube Kids. This dedicated app was built with simple curated content in mind so your child can enjoy videos without any pesky mature language or concepts they shouldn’t be exposed too yet!

 

In its latest announcement, YouTube has said that in the coming months they will be launching a new support for parents to allow their children access through supervised Google Account. A lot of YouTubers have welcomed this news with open arms and it’s exciting because we’ll finally get more content created by kids!

 

In an upcoming update on-YouTube announced plans of allowing children under 13 years old create accounts without having adult involvement enabled straightaway but instead only after verifying themselves as over 18 via ID card or another form piece document such us driver’s license

 

YouTube says that this new feature was designed with the goal of making it easier for parents and children to find entertaining YouTube videos.

 

YouTube is expected to use a mix of user input, machine learning and human review in order determine which videos will be included on the platform.

 

In addition to choosing the content settings for their kids, parents will also be able manage watch and search history from within a child’s account settings. Another noteworthy thing YouTube is rolling out in April 2018 is that it won’t show personalised ads on “certain categories.”
