As a tech-savvy father, I found myself faced with the task of connecting with my son, Khrishang, who has ADHD hyperactivity, in a meaningful way. One of our favorite activities is playing cooperative video games. These games require teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills – all of which are beneficial for Khrishang’s development. As we strategize and overcome obstacles together, our bond grows stronger with each shared triumph.
Moreover, technology has become a tool for Khrishang to express himself creatively. With guidance, he explores digital art, games, vloging and more. These outlets not only serve as a form of therapy but also empower Khrishang to showcase his talents and creativity.
Beyond gaming and creative pursuits, technology has also played a crucial role in helping Khrishang manage his ADHD symptoms. I utilize specialized apps and tools to create structured routines, set reminders, and track progress. These digital aids provide Khrishang with the structure and support he needs to stay organized and focused – empowering him to navigate daily challenges with confidence.
Our journey hasn’t been without its obstacles. The pervasive stigma surrounding ADHD often leads to misconceptions and judgment from others. Khrishang and I have faced our fair share of criticism and skepticism along the way. But through our shared love for technology and games, we’ve learned to tune out the noise and focus on what truly matters – our bond as father and son.
As Khrishang grows older, our relationship continues to evolve. What started as a shared interest in technology has blossomed into a deep and meaningful connection built on mutual respect and understanding. I am not just a father but also try to be a mentor, advocate, and friend – guiding Khrishang through life’s ups and downs with unwavering love and support.
