DIY Lip Balm
Nowadays you can find tons of recipes online if looking for something new or just want some ideas about what flavors work best. The basics of lip balm creation are really simple: you need a fat (vegetable-based butter or oil), and wax, Flavoring agents and essential oils can be added for more complexity, but these two ingredients will get your lips nice and moisturized!
What you’ll need
Oils/butters and wax (as your recipe dictates), a small pot or double-boiled for melting, mixing in the large bucket with a whisk. Glass droppers are good to have when making lip balms but not necessary unless you want them super thick!
Lemon Coconut Lip Balm
1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil 2 Tbsp Sunflower Oil
1 Teaspoon & 1 teaspoon Beeswax, 10 drops Lemon essential oil.
Chop or grate your wax quite finely and scoop it into a smaller pot along with butters and oils. Heat about 2″ of water in the larger pot/double boiler; make sure not to spill any onto stovetop. once warmed transfer from steamer pan back into original vessel set over low heat until completely melted before adding desired amount.
Once the wax and oil mixture has melted, remove it from heat. Then add your essential oils by adding a few drops at first to check if they are compatible with each other before adding more that may result in contamination due to stronger scents being too close together or overwhelming others nearby them – but don’t worry! You can always adjust their concentration later since fragrance doesn’t easily fade away quickly on skin.
To make the best lip balm ever, start by transferring some of our liquid balm into an empty container. Let it cool overnight or about ten hours before closing your new favorite product and giving everyone at home access to its sweet scent!
